The Viral Jelly Gem Hoops
Do you remember a month or so ago….I was saying I was working on something super exciting, but super top secret?? The time has finally come and I get to share what’s been going on behind the scenes!
I have been given an awesome opportunity to work with an incredible brand that I’m SURE you’ve heard of before – Blossom!

You may know Blossom for their SUPER viral DIY and How-To videos! Blossom is starting a brand new series of videos that will feature the various processes of different types of artists and makers, as well as all kinds of exciting footage that will take you behind the scenes! The most incredible part – we were able to work together to film a super cool behind the scenes video featuring the Jelly Gem Hoops! This video is the FIRST of their new artist series – How cool is that?!?!?

Regardless that I had literally JUST moved back to LA, when my friend Eduardo, who works with Blossom, called me up (on a Tuesday) and asked about me shooting a new series with them (that Friday!) I couldn’t pass it up! I mean seriously, what a cool opportunity! I then furiously began setting up my bench – creating a brand new design – and making sure I had all the equipment and materials necessary. Let’s just say, Amazon Prime shipping came in clutch when I realized that I had left my 3D printing resin in Missouri. And did I mention that I needed to move everything to the living room since it had better lighting…? Lol. Getting the living room comfy and decorated had to wait....

Friday morning came and it was time to get filming! I was able to work with two incredibly talented ladies, Therese Peralta and Analise Anderson! I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty nervous and melted my first attempt at making the bezel. When I let them know I had messed up and would need to remake it they were super excited because that meant they got to reshoot it. I’ve never been so encouraged to make mistakes and have to start over!

My favorite moment from filming was when I balled up a piece of solder…Therese instinctually reacts by saying “Wooooooooaahhhhhhhhhh!”, and then Analise responds by reminding her that they were trying to capture the sound as well… haha. After having balled up solder a million times, I kinda forgot how COOL it is. I still think it’s super cool that when silver is melted, it balls up into a perfect sphere, but I no longer have that same verbal reaction to it. They made filming so enjoyable and were able to point out the “WOAH” moments of the process that have seemed to slip by after making jewelry for so long.
