(An oldie, but a goodie!)

There are SO MANY reasons why these ladies are this month’s (and every month’s!!) Woman Crush Wednesday that I’m sure I won’t even begin to cover, BUT— there is some exciting news to share that involves a collaboration between the three of us for an event during this year’s New York City Jewelry Week which is why these ladies, Bernie Thompson and Jocelyn Desisto, are November's WCW!
*
First and foremost, these two have always been super supportive of whatever I’m working on and will even go out of their way to share opportunities with me that can help grow my business!
*
Collaboration over competition--scream it from the rooftops! If you don’t have friends like this — I would highly recommend you find some!

Back to business — Let me introduce you to my favorite jewelry designers, Bernie Thompson with Onus Studio and Jocelyn Desisto with Lot 28 Design. Both of these amazing ladies graduated with their degree in Jewelry from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) — this is where we became so close while spending countless hours together in the studio.

Onus Studio, created by Bernie, is dedicated to exploring what it means to be a conscious consumer. The quality of the product and the connection between creator and consumer is what matters. You can visually see the thought that goes into each piece through the textures and silhouettes created. Using various textures incorporated in her jewelry, one of my favorites is the use of cantaloupe texture. The texture is totally transformed and makes you rethink the way you view the textures that constantly surround you.

Jocelyn created her brand, Lot 28 Design, with inspiration from the plot of land that she spent countless summers exploring. Her jewelry is meant to spark the joy of discovery, while generating awareness around immediate environmental issues. Jocelyn uses a combination of 3D printing and traditional jewelry fabrication. Each piece is hand painted with no two being identical. It is hard to hold back a smile when looking at the collections that Jocelyn has created for Lot 28.

We recently discovered that each of us has a desire to positively impact the world through each of our jewelry brand in one way or another. This realization is what began the idea for “Big Picture”, an installation that will be a part of the Full Circle event during the upcoming New York City Jewelry Week
*
The installation will be an interactive pop-up that share how the little things add up to the big picture. The installation illustrates the potential of how being a conscious-consumer (Onus Studio), empowering others (Cassondra Justine), and respecting the environment (Lot28 Design) can lead to a path towards change. The installation will be composed of wearable objects that are shown as a greater sum when put together. Viewers will be able to leave with a small part of the work as a reminder to have a positive influence in their communities.

The event, Full Circle, will be held November 22 from 10am-8:30pm at the Katie Murphy Auditorium 7 Pomerantz Center at FIT in New York City, New York. (Click here for the address!)
*
It is a full day event with speakers revolving around sustainability challenges that are facing the jewelry market (BERNIE AND JOCELYN ARE SPEAKING!! — couldn’t hold back the caps — so incredibly proud!)

I don’t yet have ALL the details but will continue to update this link and share more information as New York Jewelry Week approaches! If you are in NYC I would LOVE to see you there!
